London has endless date possibilities, especially during the summer months. Here are my top 13 favorite summer dates in the city, each offering a unique experience. I hope you discover something that excites you and inspires you to plan a memorable outing with a London local this season.
Here are some my top summer date recommendations but not limited to:
1. Picnic in the Park: There is not a simpler way to enjoy British summer than a romantic picnic at one of London's many parks, such as Hyde Park, Regent's Park, or Hampstead Heath. I’ll bring a blanket and you bring the bottle of wine.
2. Outdoor Cinema: Have you ever experienced an outdoor cinema? Rooftop Film Club and Luna Cinema show new and classic films at various iconic locations around London. For something just out of the city The Grove in Hertfordshire offers an outdoor cinema on their beautiful grounds.
3. Kew Gardens: Let’s explore the stunning Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew. We can wander through the beautiful gardens, visit the Palm House, and enjoy the summer blooms whilst I am in an appropriate/inappropriate sundress.
4. Southbank Walk: One of my favourite areas to explore, The Southbank. Watching the street performers, pop-up markets, and riverside views. We can also stop by the Tate Modern or the Southbank Centre.
5. Alexandra Palace: Known for its beautiful panoramic views of the city; During summertime, they host lots of outdoor events, food markets, and have a beer garden where we could enjoy a drink and the view.
6. Richmond Park: Spend a day in Richmond Park, where we can see the resident deer, enjoy a bike ride, or walk. Richmond is also great for riverside dining, with yummy local independent restaurants.
7. Columbia Road Flower Market: A Sunday only activity, we can visit the vibrant Columbia Road Flower Market, followed by a coffee or wine at one of the cute nearby cafes.
8. Borough Market: My favourite market to explore! Borough Market is great for a culinary adventure and introduction into the London food scene. We can try a variety of street food, gourmet treats, and fresh produce, as well as some of London’s best independent restaurants like, OMA.
9. Hampstead Heath Swimming Ponds: Let’s take a dip and cool ourselves off in the swimming ponds at Hampstead Heath for a refreshing and unique London summer experience. Plus you’ll get to see me in my bikini.
10. Regent's Canal: We can walk or cycle along Regent's Canal. Where we can start at Little Venice and head towards Camden Market, where we can enjoy the lively atmosphere, great pubs and all the tasty food options!
11. Rooftop Bars: One of my favourite past time is enjoying drinks outside with a view of London on a rooftop. Places such as Aviary, The Standard or Kaso.
12. Summer Festivals: Lets attend one of the many summer days festivals in London, such as the British Summer Time in Hyde Park. They have a plethora of artists and bands each year that we could enjoy together in the sun, plus my daisy dukes and cowboy boots.
13. Primrose Hill: Finally, for a fantastic view of London’s skyline we can climb Primrose Hill, and then explore the best neighbourhood Primrose Hill with its local cafes and independent boutiques.
These are my ideas that I know can make for a memorable and romantic date while enjoying the best of what London has to offer in the summer. If you are interested in one of these dates please do include this in your introductory email so I am able to plan accordingly.
